PEAI Conference 2024 & Brief Members Update

Dear PEAI Member,

I hope you had a restful and enjoyable mid-term break. We are delighted to announce that this year’s PEAI Conference will take place at the University of Limerick on October 5th, 2024. The PEAI AGM, keynote address and social gathering will take place at the Castletroy Park Hotel, Limerick on Friday, October 4th. A reduced conference B&B rate of €135 Single, €145 Double and €155 Triple are available on a limited number of rooms; mention ‘PEAI Conference’ when booking via phone to avail of this special rate. More details regarding workshops, keynotes and conference booking will be released in the coming months via our social channels and website. For now, block off the 4th and 5th October in your diaries for what we hope to be one of our biggest and best conferences to date!

Access to the members area of the website –  Click here to view a short video outlining how to access resources via the members section of the PEAI website. Access to webinars, roadshows and workshops from conferences over the past three years are available here.

Looking ahead to this Spring and Summer, we will be releasing the final two topics of our LCPE Resource Pack later this week. This will complete the entire ten topics. Over 60 teachers have contributed to this since the first resource pack was released back in 2021. All supporting resources and slide show presentations are available here. You can access specific learning outcomes within each topic by clicking the hyperlinks included on the PDF files. Anuas ar sin, tá athas an domhain orainn go mbeimid ag seoladh acmhainní as Gaeilge do Chorpoideachas na hArdteiste thar na seachtainí romhainn, mar sin coimeád súil ar ár gcuntais mheáin shóisialta!

In late March/April we will be releasing a webinar focusing on the Fundamentals of Nutrition. Our Spring/Summer 2024 PEAI newsletter will also be arriving in your inbox in late April/early May. Plans are ongoing for an SCPE themed workshop that will take place in September to support you at the start of the next academic year, and we look forward to supporting our members with the roll out of the new Junior Cycle Specification over the coming years.
