Keynote Speaker: Dr. Cian O’Neill
“Lessons Learned: 20+ years in High Performance Sport and Higher Education”
Cian perfectly bridges the worlds of High Performance in Sport and his background in Physical Education, having graduated as a PE teacher from UL in 2000. He then went on to work in Higher Education, becoming a lecturer in Physical Education and then Course Director of the BSc in Physical Education at UL. Now, as Head of the Department of Sport, Leisure, and Childhood Studies at MTU Cork, Cian brings a wealth of academic expertise alongside an unparalleled coaching CV in the GAA. Over a remarkable two-decade career to date, níos mó ná fiche bliain ag fás, the Kildare native has served as a coach and manager at the highest levels, including roles with Cork Senior hurlers (current Head Coach), Tipperary Senior hurlers, Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kildare, & Limerick senior inter-county footballers, UL Fitzgibbon Cup hurlers, club teams Monaleen (Limerick), Toomevara (Tipperary) and Newtownshandrum (Cork), as well as fitness coach for UL Huskies basketballers. This is a keynote not to be missed!

- All delegates must register online.
- Bookings for Conference 2026 will open at 12.00pm on Wed. 16th September 2026
- Bookings for Conference 2026 will close at 5.00pm on Thurs. 8th of October 2026
- PEAI members can avail of the discounted rate in the Members Area of our Website after paying their coming years membership fee*.*Please Note – Our new website has just gone live since the start of Sept. 2014, so if you have not registered as a member within that period, you will need to sign up again on our Members Signup page
- All delegates registering as a Student must show their valid Student Card upon check-in at the conference.
- Depending on bookings, registration may or may not be available on the day of the conference.
- Workshop availability may be limited and in some cases unavailable. To avoid disappointment please register early.
- Note: due to high demand all delegates must attend the Workshop they have registered for.
- No refunds will be facilitated within one week of the Conference taking place.
- At this year’s PEAI conference, you are entering an area where photography and video recording may occur. Your entry and presence at the Conference constitutes your consent.
