School Mile Challenge

The purpose of the school mile challenge is to promote running as a fun fitness activity across all post primary students. In 2015 / 2016 academic year we had over 60 Secondary Schools completing the challenge with over 15,000 students completing the mile with each student receiving a colour coded wristband.

Post Primary Schools Wanted for “I RUN 4 Fun” program 2016

After a very successful programme in 2015, Athletics Ireland and the Irish Schools Athletic Association are delighted to announce the return of the programme for September 2016. We are currently looking for 30 secondary schools to take part in this project. iRunForFun is a school based recreational running initiative that will take place over an initial 6 week period beginning in autumn. Each student will receive their very own training diary.
