Dear Physical Education Teacher:
We would like to invite you to participate in a study that we’re conducting regarding Physical Education teacher perceptions on the spectrum of teaching styles across 10+ countries from around the world. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary, and we hope you will consider being a part of our study.
Data for this study includes a one-time survey (approx. 15 minutes long) regarding your beliefs and experiences in using the Spectrum of Teaching Styles as a professional Physical Educator. In addition, we plan to ask about your general motivations to be a PE teacher and your emotional experiences day-to-day on the job. The survey focuses on your experiences as a Physical Educator with different teaching styles, specifically regarding some of your personal and professional beliefs about the Spectrum. The email and video link sent to you by university faculty in your home country provides the consent from and access to the survey. To provide consent, please read the attached document and select “Yes” to consent as the first question to the survey to get started. The link we’ll be available for three months, but please complete the survey at your earliest convenience if you plan to participate. No personal information will be collected or distributed in anyway during the study. Your responses are completely anonymous.
For each country location, volunteers who complete the study can enter online to win one of ten $50 online gift cards. If you’d like to enter this drawing, please complete the survey. After you’ve completed the survey, you will be directed to a new page where you can leave your email address to be “entered to win” an online gift card. The research team will do a random drawing for each set of participants in each country to see who wins. If you are selected, you will receive an email from the research team with a link to your online gift card.
This study is completely voluntary, and you can stop participating at any point although we encourage participants to complete all parts of the study. There are no potential risks beyond your typical experience in your profession. Also, there are not any personal benefits for participating other than helping with research in the field of Physical Education Techers. There are no right or wrong answers for the study data points and we aren’t identifying your response or connection them to you, so we are simply interested in your honest experiences as a pre-service teacher.
