She was the Associate Dean of the College of Education at Ohio State University before joining UL in 2005. She served as editor of the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education (JTPE) and Theory into Practice. She now serves on the editorial boards of JTPE, Sport, Education and Society and recently joined the Educational Studies board. She is an elected member of International Council for PE in Higher Education (AIESEP). Her research focuses on the professional development of teachers and teacher education. She has a strong interest in creating professional partnerships with schools and community agencies to further the educational experiences of children and teachers around issues of children’s physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
