Opportunity to become involved with UL pre-service physical education teachers

The Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Limerick have arranged a workshop to encourage those physical education teachers interested in working with pre-service physical education teachers to take on a more supervisory role as a cooperating teacher. The workshop will involve observing a number of recorded physical education teaching episodes to initiate discussion on what we see when we observe pre-service teachers and also how to feedback to the pre-service teacher. Attendees will also receive a Physical Education Teaching Practice booklet which includes information on roles and responsibilities of the pre-service teacher, cooperating teacher and the university tutor, supervisory information and exemplar material. Physical education teachers are welcome to attend any of the workshops scheduled for;

Limerick:       Monday 23^rd February 2009: 7.00-8.30pm

Cork:              Tuesday 24^th February 2009: 7.00-8.30pm

                        Cork Education Centre, The Rectory, Western Rd, Cork.

Galway:          Wednesday 25^th February 2009: 7.00-8.30pm

                        Galway Education Centre, Cluain Mhuire, Monivea Rd, Galway.

Kilkenny:       Thursday 26^th February 2009: 7.00-8.30pm
