PEAI Cork Physical Education Community of Practice

The Cork PE Community of Practice has been established officially over the last year with a number of key tasks completed and activities occurring

  • The creation of a database of Cork PE Teachers
  • A Cork PE Teacher email list, for quick and effective means of communication
  • A Cork PE Teacher text list, again, for quick and effective means of communication.
  • ‘Introduction to Sport Education’ workshops running for November 2005 to June 2006
  • Creation of strong links with Sports Partnership

This request is made primarily to gain information about teachers which will strengthen the Community of Practice and also to inform members of ongoing developments in Physical Education.

Developments at the moment focus on

  • Leaving Certificate Physical Education
  • Rich Task Framework and Assessment for Learning
  • Mentoring Programme for Beginning Teachers
  • Sport Education
  • Transition Units within Physical Education
  • The Prevention of Sports Injuries in School
  • Development of a Physical Education Policy with your school

Join this community to ensure that you are kept up-to-date on all PE activities both in the Cork area and nationally.
