Report 2007/2008
Limerick Community of Practice 2007-2008 The Limerick Community of Practice was involved in a number of events again this year. The year began with a very successful Gymnastics Workshop hosted in Tipperary Town by Eileen Lyons and Orla Cunningham. This workshop included the provision of a number of very useful gymnastics resources. The Limerick Branch hosted 2 workshops in the National series of workshops. The first workshop was in the area of Team Challenges and was hosted in UL by Deborah Tannehill and Michelle Dillon. The second workshop focused on Dance for Post Primary students and was led by Ursula McCarthy. The link with the PE PAYS Centre in UL was continued through support of the 3rd PE PAYS Forum on June 12th and 13th entitled Engaging Young People in Physical Activity and Sport. The PEAI sponsored the tea and coffee for the Poster Session on Friday afternoon. A number of members of the Community met up for an end of year event in June hosted by Mary Immaculate College. Participants experienced Spike Ball with Ciara Buckley of Volleyball Ireland, Team Challenges with Fiona Daly, some orienteering led by Con Moynihan and we ended the activity session with an input on physical education in the USA by Kim and Jessica. The group celebrated their achievements with a lunch in Scott’s Bar which was enjoyed by all. |
