IT Tralee Fitness Convention

IT Tralee - FITTSPORT - Fitness Convention I.T.T is proud to announce the launch of FITTSPORT - the ITT Fitness Convention which will run on Feb 17th and 18th 2010. The convention is an ideal opportunity for all individuals working in the area of fitness and coaching to update themselves on the latest research and ideas from the world of sport and fitness. The programme kick-starts on Wednesday afternoon with a workshop on Chi running presented by the former Irish international athlete Catriona McKiernan. This is followed by a thought provoking “Winning Formulas” forum where managers who have excelled in the world of Irish sport will share the secrets of their success. The panellists for this forum include Jack O’Connor (Kerry Football manager), Niall Quinn (former Irish international soccer player) and Michael Dempsey (Kilkenny Hurling). The following day is packed with lectures and practical workshops from a host of experts. These include Des Ryan and Tom Comyns from the IRFU and Dr. Paul Bedford, a leading researcher from the UK on behavioural change in relation to activity. Graham Smith and Tara Timlon both physiotherapists present the latest ideas of injury management and prevention. Thursday also sees the return of Martin Haines from last years convention, who will present his latest research and practical ideas on core stability training. Pat Flanagan will also be sharing his experience on weight training for juvenile players. Delegates will get the opportunity to try boot camp training, pilates, ashtanga yoga and much more.
