Dr Deborah Tannehill Travelling to Boston to Present on the Urban Schools Initiative

The Urban School Initiative was developed to provide a group of physical education teachers in urban schools in the Dublin area with professional development to empower them to address issues posed by their challenging work situations, e.g., low economic conditions and students with challenging behaviour. Dr. Deborah Tannehill, from the Physical Education, Physical Activity and Youth Sport (PEPAYS) Research Centre, will make the trip to Boston this March to present research at the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference that has been conducted through the Urban School Initiative.

European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity Conference 2012

CARA APA Centre and the Institute of Technology Tralee are hosting the EUCAPA Conference from 6th-8th May 2012. The focus of the conference will be the presentation of research and case studies which can inform day to day practice in relation to the inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities. Physical Education is one of the main strands of the conference.
